Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh media sosial terhadap persepsi masyarakat mengenai ketidaksetaraan dan keadilan sosial. Dalam era digital, media sosial tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai sarana komunikasi, tetapi juga menjadi ruang penyebaran informasi, representasi gaya hidup, serta wacana ketidakadilan sosial yang dapat membentuk opini publik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain survei eksplanatori. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner daring dengan skala Likert kepada masyarakat pengguna media sosial aktif berusia 17–60 tahun. Variabel yang diteliti meliputi intensitas penggunaan media sosial, paparan konten visual kekayaan, paparan konten aktivisme sosial, persepsi ketidaksetaraan, legitimasi ketimpangan, status sosial subjektif, serta kelas sosial objektif sebagai variabel moderasi. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan regresi linear berganda dan uji moderasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa intensitas penggunaan media sosial berpengaruh signifikan terhadap meningkatnya persepsi ketidaksetaraan sosial-ekonomi. Paparan visual kekayaan di media sosial terbukti menjadi faktor paling dominan yang memicu perasaan kekurangan relatif dan memperkuat persepsi ketidakadilan. Selain itu, paparan konten aktivisme sosial juga meningkatkan sensitivitas responden terhadap isu ketimpangan. Status sosial subjektif terbukti memoderasi pengaruh media sosial, di mana individu yang merasa berada pada posisi sosial rendah lebih sensitif terhadap konten ketimpangan dibanding kelompok status sosial tinggi. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa media sosial memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk persepsi keadilan sosial dan ketidaksetaraan, sehingga diperlukan peningkatan literasi media sosial kritis untuk mendorong pemahaman publik yang lebih objektif.
